MADISON, N.C., February 8th, 2008 – Remington Arms has extended the company’s long-term marketing agreement with fan-favorite Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series.

Kahne is an avid outdoorsmen and recently took the biggest whitetail of his life using a Remington Model 700? rifle on a deer hunt in Texas. Regarding the parallels between racing and hunting, Kahne said, “I’ve always said that success in hunting is a lot like good racing strategy, you have to relax and wait for your opportunity, and that’s exactly why I was able to harvest that awesome buck in Texas.”

If not for the good instincts of a stranger, and fellow hunter, Randy Miller’s only keepsake of this whitetail would be this picture of the day he shot the buck from a tree stand in western Kansas. I know this might be a couple years old but, I just found this news report and video and wanted to share it. It shows a Bobcat pouncing on a unsuspecting Woodchuck. This is something that is rather rare and not seen very often if any.

Connecticut (Sept. 29, 2006) ? Recent bobcat sightings in central Massachusetts have some homeowners on alert and one family just south of the border in Connecticut has spotted a bobcat at least six times recently even catching it on camera.

My biggest and most enjoyable Deer so far

December 31, 2007

I started out on opening day for CT. State Land Shotgun season by getting up at 4:30 in the morning to get dressed and load my truck and head out. In this area where I am hunting it sometimes gets busy with hunters, especially on opening day. I wanted to get there early just in case, ok maybe I just couldn’t wait so that is why I left at 5:00 a.m.

Right Place at the Right Time

December 18, 2007

This story is dedicated to my Dad who passed away in March 2006 who always told me Rick it’s all about being in the “Right Place at the Right Time”.

After going out on a traditional Thanksgiving morning hunt during Connecticut’s shotgun private land season I noticed on my way out to go have dinner that there was a lot of active deer sign around one of my other favorite places to sit. Thanksgiving morning was a bust but, I had a feeling about this spot.
